schoolKarthick completed his schooling as a commendable student in the famous  “Red Building” Hindu Higher Secondary School, Triplicane, Chennai-5. Following it up, As an illustrious student of RKM Vivekananda College, Karthick holds a M.A, M.Phil and Ph.D majoring in Sanskrit and has completed his Doctorate in the topic ‘Musical Instruments in Sanskrit Literature’ and also has M.A. in Indian Music from the Department of Indian Music, University of Madras.

Dr. S. Ramaratnam, former Principal and Head of the department of Sanskrit, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Mylapore, Chennai-4, was the loving guiding force behind him.

Dr.’Ghatam’ Karthick secured University Second Rank in both B.A. and M.A. His topic for dissertation in M. Phil 'Percussion Instruments in Sanskrit Literature' was certified as highly commended. His Ph.D thesis ‘Musical Instruments in Sanskrit Literature' is also been highly commended and would be published soon.

Dr.’Ghatam’ Karthick has regularly contributed articles to journals, websites, seminars, souvenirs & presented papers in prestigious seminars and symposiums.

Dr. ’Ghatam’ Karthick has also presented talks and lectures on various other aspects in subjects like Spiritual Values, Indian Heritage and Culture, Indian Musical thought, Mathematics and Percussion, Role of Musical Instruments, Indian Customs and Beliefs, Humour and Music, Mystical Symbolism etc.
